This graphic is provocative and intended to generate attention to the subject of what safe Supply actually is because the narrative in the public domain is one crafted by pharma interests and I believe there is ample reason to believe these people and many at VCH are well aware that the language they use is intended to mislead and misrepresent. This graphic is a play on the Radius Security graphic that depicts people behind bars looking just like this and that graphic is plastered on commercial vehicles that frequent Hastings all the time where many people have suffered incredible abuse in custody. These vehicles sometimes also display Vancouver Fire and Radius Security without regard for how the imagery is perceived by people who have spent time in prison for things like possession of small amounts of drugs so I feel this is fair game and useful tool to ask - what is he trying to say with this? Drug-Supply Disruption and the Ryan Wedding Arrest

The Evidence Deck is examining reported cocaine-price changes following Ryan Wedding’s arrest and comparing them with earlier enforcement actions. The comparison requires verification of quantities, destinations, timing, market conditions and source independence.

One of the questions being examined is whether reported enforcement events of very different sizes produced correspondingly different effects on price or availability.

Any discrepancy does not, by itself, prove that a seizure report was staged. It does provide a reason to independently examine how quantities were calculated, what was actually seized, whether the drugs were destined for Canada, and why different enforcement events may have produced different market effects.

Hello, Vancouver.

I’m Scott Gilbert, and I’m running for mayor because I like solving problems. I want to deliver practical improvements to people’s lives, with results we can measure and evidence people can examine.

I’m also a bit of a comedian, so expect some humour and satire along the way. The issues I’m addressing are serious, and I believe a little humour can sometimes make a bitter pill easier to swallow.

The posters below highlight my platform. I also plan to release a demo of Vancouver City Servant, my live-avatar project, along with Agora, a civic-engagement app designed to give voters a say on matters before council.

About Scott

I studied environmental engineering at the University of Guelph before working as an assistant to Dr. Nancy Olivieri at University Health Network. My work included writing material for her lecture series on the pharmaceutical industry’s influence on academia and public policy.

I moved to Vancouver a decade ago and have lived and worked in the Downtown Eastside for most of that time. My background and firsthand experiences have shaped my practical approach to solving problems and improving public services.

In 2025, I volunteered at Bowser Island in North Vancouver, taking on an informal community role as the island’s “mayor.” I helped arrange sanitation, access to drinking water and fire-safety equipment, and helped provide places for people to live.

I’m eager to put my experience, energy and problem-solving skills to work for the people of Vancouver—the best city on Earth.

With this graphic, I am doing what Trump did to Hillary Clinton. There was substance to the criticism that she should not have been using a private email server. It was not enough to put her in prison, but it put her on the defensive and required her to explain something she had been trying to keep from becoming an election issue.
